A witness to the evolution of 3D computer aided design, I spent over

20 years working in the field of industrial design.

Today, industrial designers are often distanced from materials: everyone works on a screen and for the screen.
I began to miss working with my hands in the studio—the feel of materials, the cutting and shaping of wood or metal...

So, in 2021, to reconnect with the physical gesture of making, I began

a three-year training program at CERFAV (European Centre for Research

and Training in Glass Arts).
There, I was finally able to touch my dream and create my own art and design practice.

When I founded my business, I set it up in Toul, in the Grand Est region

of France.

For the name, I chose to reference the Chinese family naming tradition:
My Chinese given name is Ho Chung (可頌).

This tradition strings together the given names of family members, forming a lineage.

Ho (可) means “capable of…”
Chung (頌) means “to sing”

Yì (意) symbolizes mind, intention, and immersion in the inner world.

Thus, unity is found in the gesture—in the fluid execution that brings together body and mind.

HoYi means “capable of spirit”.
